Herbalized skyliner covers Grüne Soße Festival 2021 in Frankfurt

An sl32 from skyliner, planted with herb boxes, covered the Frankfurt Roßmarkt exactly to the centimeter. The event roof, used for the first time on the celebrated „Grüne Soße“ festival, offered both artists and audience protection against the weather for three weeks in August and September. Thanks to the enormous size and the partial closing of the system, compliance with all applicable corona guidelines was not an issue.

Even more, the skyliner also enabled significant changes to the concept of the traditional festival: compared to previous years, the stage and grandstand could be massively enlarged, open spaces and open sightlines offered a completely new experience under the circular roof. Two additional truss lines attached to the system at a height of six meters opened up new, more flexible options for sound and lighting design by tech supporter Flashlight. The all-around closing plus the attached beds – planted with all sorts of herbs for the name-giving sauce – created a very special atmosphere.

The three-week event was supported by the funding initiative Ins Freie, hosted by the State of Hessen. Entertainer Gayle Tufts, author Chin Meyer, comedian and radio presenter Bodo Bach, and the acapella group U-Bahnkontrollöre in tiefgefrorenen Frauenkleidern hit the stage.
